Strategic Plan (2024-2026)

Our Mission is to put the Christian principles of love, respect, honesty, responsibility, and service into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Strategic Plan - Youth Development YMCA

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Our future leaders face many challenges. Physical safety from violence or crime, disengaging from school, the challenges of adult responsibilities, and worries about career opportunities create stress and doubt in our youth, who deserve engaging activities to help them explore and identify positive life paths.

Our Response

We will help our young people to grow into healthy, thriving adults by offering supportive education and leadership programs.

Initiatives

  • Convene diverse communities to focus our collective efforts on addressing critical opportunities for growth in youth development.
  • Create new middle and high school leadership programs for future change-makers.
  • Develop volunteer leadership opportunities for youth in all current and future YMCA programs.
  • Create an employer-of-choice culture for first-time job seekers.

Strategic Plan - Healthy Living

HEALTHY LIVING

The well-being services in our communities are limited and sometimes insufficient for those seeking to improve their physical, mental, emotional, and social health. Limited and expensive options, long commutes, and extensive waits are often the default for most people and families.

Our Response

We will improve our community’s holistic health by providing programs and activities and collaborating with other like-minded organizations to promote overall well-being.

Initiatives

  • Prioritize the well-being of staff and volunteers through career development, empowerment, learning, and respect.
  • Develop meaningful community partnerships in the areas of mental health to address the ongoing post-pandemic effects upon our youth and families.
  • Broaden our mobile programming efforts to non/under-served communities.
  • Expand our Chaplain certification work to address the ongoing effects of social isolation, depression, and despair.
Strategic Plan - Social Responsibility YMCA

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Marginalized and underserved communities may experience economic challenges such as loss of income, racial tension, exposure to violence and crime, and poverty. Unequal distribution of resources and systemic inequalities can exacerbate the struggle for all marginalized communities to access the necessities of life.

Our Response

We will address the critical issues facing our diverse communities by creating opportunities where communities are included and connected.

Initiatives

  • Prioritize collaborative efforts with other like-minded organizations to provide resources and opportunities for youth and families to engage with others.
  • Expand our efforts in the areas of houselessness by working with public institutions and local municipalities.
  • Create a welcoming environment where all feel empowered to share their perspectives and experiences.
  • Engage volunteers to assist our efforts in fueling positive impact in our communities.
