Clay Studio Classes
Ceramics students are led by a skilled ceramics instructor and our full-service studio suits beginners to advanced artists. You can work independently, or receive guidance from our instructors. We offer an open studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-9:00PM.
Come and try hand-building, wheel-throwing, or glazing an already-fired item!
Enrichment
In this camp, students will explore the ceramic medium in our full clay studio!
Our instructors will challenge students to be creative problem solvers and artistic visionaries. This program is for six to 12-year-olds.
Workshops
We offer workshops of three and six weeks out of our Southeast Family Y location. Stay tuned for an updated class list, or email Mackenzie (mstewart@ymcacw.org) for more information.

Kids learn various hand-building techniques in three-week workshops to design their plates, platters, and trays. You will learn to create patterns, imprints, and different glazing techniques.

They've been practicing with clay since they were a kid in the YMCA and Parks & Rec programs, and continued to study the art through high school and college. With more than 20 years of experience, Casey enjoys throwing on the wheel, altering pieces and creating whimsical, nature inspired pieces. Casey has experience in hand (coil and slab) building, throwing small to medium pieces and exploring intricate forms.
