Small Group Training

Build strength, confidence, and community in a small-group fitness setting led by a YMCA trainer.

Small group training brings 2–12 participants together with a YMCA trainer around a shared health and fitness goal. Sessions take place in a functional training space designed for circuit, strength, cardio, core, and specialty-style classes. Training in community can help build motivation, encouragement, and consistency.

Women on Weights: Open to all women, this class focuses on pelvic floor strength and supports strength training through multiple stages of life. The women-only environment is designed to build comfort through community while prioritizing health at every stage of womanhood.

Circuit: Move through workout stations with a variety of exercises and limited rest between stations. Each station targets different muscle groups or fitness components—such as strength, endurance, or cardio—so you can get a full-body workout in a short amount of time.

Balance for Life: Blend functional strength training with Pilates- and yoga-inspired movement, plus light to moderate weights, to help you move with confidence and control. Balance is the foundation of every session, supported by strength, stability, mobility, and flexibility to promote safer movement and reduce fall risk.

Glutes and Core: Strengthen and stabilize your deep core, glutes, and surrounding stabilizing muscles. This class is open to all and can support back comfort, hip stability, muscle balance, and knee function by building a stronger foundation.

Kettlebell Flow: Use kettlebells to build strength while also focusing on mobility and flexibility. This class combines strength training with yoga-inspired movement, making it a great option if you want to get stronger while staying mobile and flexible.

Human Reformer & Weights: A strength-focused Pilates class using reformer bands, controlled Reformer-style movements, free weights, and progressive overload. This hybrid workout builds lean muscle, increases strength and power, improves balance, and enhances core stability, alignment, and muscular control.

Lucynda Personal Training Story

Personal Training Story-Lucynda

I cannot say enough positive words about how much this program has helped me. Having my personal trainer has been enormously helpful to me. Now, I've been seeing Jodie every week for over four years. I don't know what I'd do without it.
