Sherwood Teen ProgramsAt the Sherwood Y we invest countless hours to improve the lives of teens for building positive identity into their lives. Through meaningful relationships with community leaders these young people move forward in developing vision and set goals to become healthy, caring, competent adults.

This class is designed to teach preteens and teens the fundamentals of babysitting. This 7-hour class includes interview skills and child development, as well as rescue breathing and first aid for infants and children. Upon completion, participants will receive a Red Cross certification card. Please bring a lunch and pen or pencil. The fee for facility members is $55; program participants, $70. For ages 11 – 14 years.
Babysitter’s Boot Camp
Join us for one week of intense training for babysitters and babysitters-to-be. Participants who complete this course will be certified by the American Red Cross in Babysitter’s Training, First Aid and CPR. Participants will also get hands-on experience working with kids, obtain the skills necessary to build a babysitting business and create a babysitter’s kit. Please bring a lunch and a pen or pencil. Age: 11 – 14 Schedule: Offered summers only.
