What must I do to qualify to receive services from the Family Resource Center?
In order to receive services you must have a household income equal to or below 200% of the poverty income guidelines set for Oregon. To access services you will need to complete our short Intake Form.

How do the food boxes work at the Family Resource Center?
Our food box distribution is every Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Canned food donations are accepted and given. This service is provided in partnership with the Washington County Oregon Food Bank. You will need to complete an application to receive a food box.

Does the Family Resource Center offer holiday assistance?
Yes, we also coordinate the distribution of holiday gifts and food to some district families. To learn more about how your family can receive this assistance, contact Martha Ochoa at 503.359.2598.

Does the Family Resource Center have dental care for people in need?
There is a $50 consultation for preventative and/or emergency dental care available for uninsured children and adults. The mobile dental van is in our community two or three times a month and is provided in partnership with Medical Teams Inc. To schedule an appointment, contact Martha Ochoa at 503.359.2598. After scheduling an appointment you will need to complete a patient history form. Please print the form, complete and bring with you to the appointment.

Does the Family Resource Center offer vision care to families?
Free vision screenings are offered for children 18 and under. Vision vouchers are available for exam, prescriptions and lenses.

Does the Family Resource Center have a clothing closet for the public?
Clothing and other resources for children are available through a partnership with Northwest Children's Outreach. Items that you need for your children can be requested. The items you receive will be clean and lightly used or new.

Does the Family Resource Center give out hygiene supplies?

Does the Family Resource Center offer citizenship classes?
In partnership with the US Immigration Services we are offering US Citizenship classes. To be eligible to qualify a prospective participant must be a permanent resident of the US for a minimum of five years or have been married to a US citizen for three years. Classes are quarterly, last for eight weeks and are one to two nights a week.

Does the Family Resource Center host parenting workshops?
Parenting classes are offered quarterly. Workshops are one evening a week for two hours for a 6 – 12 week period. Child care is available. Classes are available in both English and Spanish.

Does the Family Resource Center teach English classes?
English classes for adults are offered quarterly and are taught by volunteers. The workshops are one evening a week for two hours. Class level alternates between beginning, intermediate and advanced.

Does the Family Resource Center offer literacy tutoring?
Literacy tutoring for adults is also available and is taught by a volunteer. Students must be able to speak English. Focus is on grammar and reading. This is taught on an ongoing basis on Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. year round.
