Westside YMCA Youth Sports Coaching

Volunteers are key to the success of our youth sports leagues. We are a volunteer based organization and are always looking for individuals who are passionate about being a positive role model for kids. As a YMCA Volunteer Coach or Assistant Coach, your time and talents go a long way. You will have a big impact as you work with kids, developing skills on and off the court. You are teaching more than the fundamentals of the sport; you actively demonstrate our five core values of Love, Respect, Honestly, Responsibility and Service.

No experience necessary! If you’ve never coached a team before we have all the materials you need on Skills Development including rules books, helpful drills and practice outlines, as well as all the paperwork and Resources required; more resources are available upon request. If you prefer us to print any of these documents, please let us know and we would be happy to mail them to you or hold them at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA front desk for you to pick up.

We require all volunteer head coaches to Register (there isn’t a fee associated with registering as a coach). It is also a YMCA policy that all coaches and assistant coaches receive a criminal background check. Additionally, each coach will need to complete the appropriate paperwork and attend the Mandatory Coaches Meeting held prior to each season. Please contact us if you have any questions about coaching next season, westside@ymcacw.org.

Schedules will be posted a few days after registration is closed.

*Volunteer coaches are needed for both our Youth Basketball and Indoor Soccer leagues.
