Westside YMCA Youth Sports Coaching

Coaching
Volunteers are key to the success of our youth sports leagues. We are a volunteer based organization and are always looking for individuals who are passionate about being a positive role model for kids. As a YMCA Volunteer Coach* or Assistant Coach, your time and talents go a long way. You will have an opportunity to make a positive impact on the kids you work with, developing skills on and off the court. You are teaching more than the fundamentals of the sport; you actively demonstrate our five core values of Love, Respect, Honestly, Responsibility and Service.

No experience necessary! If you’ve never coached a team before we have materials, such as practice plans, drills, idea, etc. Plus we are always here and happy to help answer any questions along the way. We require all volunteer head coaches to register online—there isn’t a fee associated with registering as a coach. It is also a YMCA policy that all coaches receive a criminal background check. Additionally, each coach will need to complete the appropriate paperwork and attend the Mandatory Coaches Meeting held prior to each season. Please contact us if you have any questions about coaching next season, westside@ymcacw.org.

*Volunteer coaches are needed for both our Youth Basketball and Indoor Soccer leagues.
