“Can there be a better way to do athletics?” This is the question being asked at a developing partnership in Lansing, Michigan between the Christian Emphasis Committee (CEC) of the Greater Lansing YMCA and the Christian Athletic League of America (www.cal-a.net), founded and based in the Great Lakes Region in 2008. CAL-A will begin their 7th season of football in August 2014.

Emotions still swelled as hundreds came to the Bellevue Family YMCA on Saturday night to honor the four people killed in a plane crash yards away from the building in early February. Nearly a month after the crash, those who filled the gymnasium still wiped away tears and choked up as they remembered the accident and each of its victims: Glenn and Elaine Mull, their daughter Amy Harter and their granddaughter Samantha Harter.
